I've recently tried to back up my copy of Top Spin, when the game boots up it appears to work. You get the initial cut scenes and company logo's then it appears to check if i'm using the ms dash board or evox (which I am) its then that it bombs out.

Anybody had the same problem?

how does it appear to "check" and see if you have the ms dash or not?

my wording may not be the best as this is all pretty new to me.

The only way i can really describe it is that it is quite happy to let you see the demo's and manufacturer info but when it gets to the screen prior to the usual 'PRESS START' message it flickers to my dashboard then back to the in game microsoft copyright info and then back to the dashboard.

My chip if its any use is the X2 and evox dash.

My mates is an Aladdin chip with the usual MS dash fitted

Both are PAL

I've heard rumours about some sort new security checks maybe its that?

hmmm. Many people have backed up this game with no problem. How many times have you tried to back up the game? What bios are you using, and whats is the name of your ms dashboard?

Scratch my last questions. Try turning off all 3 of the In Game Resets in evolutionx, that should solve it.

Looking around at other boards, it seems alot of other people are having alot of probs with this game as well. I don't think they have found a way to back it up yet...

Have you patched your game for the media check?

I'm using CloneXB which usually removes the media check automatically (has done before anyway!)

i've tried it 3 times same result plays on my mates but not on mine!

Okay so you can get it to play on another XBox... Guess I read it wrong.

Mite be the DVD you burned it on, maybe your XBox doesn't like it.

yeah its a wierd one, the fact that it starts to load and shows you previews of the game and the manufaturer logos etc then stops made me think it was looking at something on the hard drive and not liking it.
