dreamcast problems and media choices???

I have started burning dreamcast games using my plextor 12x on tdk media. The discs work fine for a while, but then they just stop working!!! I can play the game for about a half hour and then it just stops working. The games I have tried are PowerStone2 and Tetris. The symptoms are the same for both games. Should I try using a better media???( Mitsui and Sony are supposed to be better than TDK - correct???).

Do you need 80 minute CDs for all dreamcast games? I have been using them - but was wondering if I could get away with 74min ones???

Thanks

I use cheapy cds. 50 cd spindle for $13 US. And I have never had a problem. I even burn them @ 16x! So personaly I think this "Use High Quality CDS" is a load. Anyway. Im not sure I quite understand you problem. You play them for about 30 mins and then they dont work?
Dose the DC just crash? It could be overheating. Make sure your DC is in a well vented area
away from vents or any heat sources. And make sure your CD's are at room temp. I heard some people having problems with cold cds. As far as the 80min cd thing goes. It all depends
on the size of the game. Anything over 650megs will need a 80min cd. Most of them come
with some sort of a NFO file telling you what size cd you need. Basicly if the software tells
you theres not enough room on the cd then put in a 80min. Those 2 games you mentioned
dont need an 80min.

You're not the only one.....I've been having the same issue with Memorex CD-R s...They work great until the Dreamcast really heats up, then the machine acts like they don't exist....

Gonna try another brand, and see what happens..
