What happens when you back out or turn the chip off?

Usual cause is the ribbon cable.

Just for everyone to know, we have spoken on the telephone and have put actions in hand to help me investigate this problem.

Just to confirm this is so........that there is no malice between me and the Messiah team, nor with Charlie hopefully a conclusion to this soon...I think we are getting there...what I need is some straight confirmations of Messiah`s or any chips in a UK or Euro 50k3`s, 50k4`s, PAL, Blacks V9`s, that when the install was made did they have solder pads that were already soldered or copper pads that were clean and I already know about manufacturing processes and the production side of the PS2, this is for ID to the possibilities of the certain PS2`s with the combination of the above statement. All help would be appreciated, this is going to take more than me and Charlie to sort this out, Oh yeah Charlie I think I got one of a V9 that as discussed on dog and bone...Contact me :-)

just done my first v9 black, power supply pcb uses totaly diff components, most main pcb components are by a diff manufacturer, under the serial no sticker on the main pcb, silver ps2 has long number inbedded in the pcb, black has 3 numbers only stanmped with ink stamp ,
both manufactured at diff factory is my guess
both made in china
black bios pads have no solder on them
working fine been on for 2 hours still booting fine

components on the board and serial no is best way to idetify, pads with and without can come from same factory, many machines will produce the boards ,setter can very easily set 1 diff to the other, but the factories will use the same components, ntil of course stocks run out then it depends were they buy from

you dismiss the fact that the diff between solder/no solder is possible id for good or bad mobo's but the consoul black that you are testing as the ss mb in it as to the solder pads so until a test as bin done on a soldered pad black/silver then this test still leaves it as unsolved
