About Echelon intros
Does anyone have a list of "introed" releases by Echelon ?
_ DOA2 and PenPen TriIcelon have the same code (that can easily be removed) _ Eldorado Gate 6 and Unreal Tournament have the same code (from Wayne Kerr) _ MHL2K2 and Tennis 2K2 have the same code (from Volk0r) For the moment, I don't know how to decompress real 1st_read.bin's. Any idea is welcome ! |

SoA have code from volk0r too, but it seems from address 0x001920 different to the boot.binīs from Tennis2K2 and NHL2K2. In opposition to another releases, are additional to the "real" 1ST_READ.BIN all other files in this release (With exception the DP- and PW-files) packed with an unknown code (Iīve posted in another thread about them), too. With this code it were perhaps possible to make out the Echelon-release, with files from the original-US-Rip (by changing the 1ST_READ.BIN and renaming the language relevanted files), a VGA-compatible Image. That can be interesting for german, french und spain gamers.

Eldorado Gate 5, Eldorado Gate 6, GigaWing 2, Sakura Wars 3 and Unreal have the same code for their intro.
_ at position 4096 : I think it's the size of the compressed file (little-endian longword) _ at position 4100 : I think it's the position of the 1st byte for the compressed file in 1st_read.bin (little-endian longword + 0x8C010000). It's always 8021018C => 0x2180 => 8576 => seems to be the 1st byte from the compressed original 1st_read.bin DeRNC doesn't work if you use it on the compress file only. I think it misses some infos from the RNC header. I also think it uses big_endian numbers, whereas DC uses little-endian. Am I the only one working on this ? |
