Upgrading for burning and games

Hi everyone........I have around 2000us to spend and I would like to spend it on my computer. Everything like the burner and drives are working perfectly. Does anyone have suggestions as to how I would speed up my comp and make it better for games and burning? It is a pentium 4 with a 2.6 gig processor, 64mb geforce4 mx440 4xagpvideo card, ata 60 gig 133 maxtor hd, ddr 400mhz 512mb ram.dru 510a sony burner and a liteonit dvd rom reader. Any replies at at all will be appreciated as I have no idea what would be better! I am also limited to getting the parts at either microcenter or computer stores in michigan. Thankyou very much .

Well what I can think of is getting 128 MB graphic card.
You have pretty much RAM and it's DDR which is faster than SDRAM.

With your specs you should be able to play all games smooth.

Video card upgrade will make a huge difference in 3D games. An ATI Radeon 9700Pro would be my pick. But if you dont play 3D games then its not so much an issue. What do you use your computer for?

Here's a benchmark link that has game benchmarks on pages 5 thru 20.

Depending on your OS and how stable your motherboard is with adding another bank of memory, you may want to make it a total of 1024MB. Nothing wrong with 512 tho.

If you have onboard or SBLive sound, then I would recommend TurtleBeach Santa Cruz sound card.
