Max payne 2 - the failure of max payne copies

My apologies if this has been answered before but I have looked & couldn't find a similar thread.

Anyway, I can't seem to copy the play disk - disk 1 & 2 copy fine with alcohol, but of course it's the play disk that counts, & it's giving me all sorts of gip

BlindRead/write wont even recognise the prescence of the disk which I though was a bit odd (it is an original) - so I can't dump it. Ive also tried alcohol but that wont give me a DPM analysis & the RMPS thingy won't work either (it just tells me there is no RMPS data on the disk - but I'm pretty sure it's secureRom 4+ protected).

all my copies come out installable but unplayable. can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? or am I going to have to settle for a no cd.

Thanks in advance
non fic

It's SecuROM protected new one (4.8x->) and it can't make a good backup.

Blindwrite sucks on that. Alcohol might do, but I never test a burn a Alcohol file. (Never test to burn a blindwrite file ether, but it can't be mounted so I take the result from that). but I tested alcohol to mount the file. And well it's doing the images thing, but when you run the game, it give the logo (neverwinter nights logo 've tested on neverwinter nights) and nothing happens.

So if you wanna do just a backup not 1:1 I suggestion to copy manualy to the harddriver and use NERO or your choose of burner program and burn. Ether way you can't do a 1:1 copy, but you might can do a copy that might work to install but not executed from!

Thanks - thats pretty much what I've figured.

As I said I have an installable copy & I can keep the original safe so It's no real biggie - it's just this new securerom stuff is becoming a real pain in the ass.

It'll soon get to the point where i spend more time copying a game than playing it! - that was certainly the case with Judge Dredd vs Death - ugghh what a load of crap, and that only took 10 mins to copy.

When you copy to the harddriver, you can always add a crack folder!
