Rip Kits. Capacity wise, DVD to CD-R is impossible, however by taking out things like MOVIES and AUDIO, it is possible to fit a DVD game on to a CD-R. I havent gotten a RIP to work yet, but I'm still trying.

DVD's are about 1.50 to 2 dollars a piece. People go for PRINCO's if you dont mind buying online, and have said VERBATIM's are great if you want to shop in a store. I've used GREAT QUALITY (cheap), and have had problems maybe 5 percent of them time.

Uhm - you need to know what kind of DVD burner you have. Most ppl have a DVD+R or DVD-R dvd burner, and if you have anyone of those then u need DVD+R or DVD-R discs. One drive wont read the other unless its a dual format drive. As for what brand of disc, go with what u have success with. GQ's are cheap and I havent had enough problems with them to warrant spending alot of money.

When you say you have a "Sony dvd/+-rw/+-r/cd" do you mean you have a DVD±R/RW and CD-R/RW burner. If so that is what I have also its called the DRU-500. If you have one of these don't play around with silly rip kits man.... because you have the real thing. If you have a DVD burner you can make 1:1 copies and not loose parts of the game that a rip kit will eliminate. Also what version PS2 do you have? If its a V4 and earlier you should burn to DVD-R's as the lazers in them are not so good and most often will only read DVD-R's. If its a V5 or latter then you might get away with DVD+R's but as for me I use DVD-R's on all versions and recommend that others do also.I would also recommend Ritek media. As for a good place to buy blank media I like to use www.meritline.com. Hope this helps.

Lightbulb Thanks....

I bought some DVD-R disks and they worked great. My ps2 is a ver.7 and handles them great. The DVD burner I have is a DRU-510A Is a good one but it does great backups. What does dvd+r mean? Is it another format for movie dvds. Thanks everyone for the info it has helped immensely.
