I tried to install it from 2 different sources.

1. From Halo CD
2. Download it directly from microsoft website. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

No luck

Desperate situations call 4 desperate measures.

This error probably occurs because the 'd3drm.dll' file already exists and is still loaded in Windows, which considers it therefore in use and prevents any deletion/modification.

So this I suggest - reboot into DOS mode and rename it to 'd3drm.dll.bak' (or anything else, just don't delete it: if Windows fails to startup, U can always revert to the old .dll file). Then reboot into Microsh*t Windows and attempt the 9.0b installation again.

This might solve yer prob.

Good luck Capt. Kark

I actually deleted it (I was frustated), and no luck.

Here's the funny thing. After i delete it, I try to install 9.0b, the installation failed and surprise, the file is there again.
