GameCube Emulator Video...

Make sure you're sitting down and are comfortable, preferably with a cup of coffee or tea or some other drink you enjoy. This is a moment you will remember forever, I promise. This is as big as when you first saw UltraHLE running Super Mario 64, and heard Mario shout "Itsa me, Maaario!".

Hold your breath and download this amazing video of the GameCube emulator Dolphin running the intro of Zelda. Please note that the author has increased the FPS for viewing pleasure reasons, the actual speed is much slower. I would like to ask webmasters of other sites to upload this file to your own webserver, else the bandwith bill will kill me.

Thanks a TON to the anonymous author of Dolphin for giving us at Emulation64 this exclusive. Also, thanks to Nezzar, vampireuk and 2fast4u for providing mirrors.

You can find the video here.

Snoop,

I must ask. What does this video prove? I downloaded it and all it seems to be is intro to the game Zelda.

Is this proof that "data" from a GC game has been extracted and manipulated to the form of an avi?

Im actually not too sure if this can be allowed on this site. Although it is very interesting.

I asked a similar question myself Tyler, in that we all know a video doesn't prove anything. However as I understand it, GC game data can now be played on a emulator on PC.

One video isn't going to blow your socks off, but hopefully this won't turn out to be a fake emu. After all, April Fools Day was a while ago

An official "teaser" release download is now on offer! Read below for the notes:

Download here: http://www.dolphin-emu.com/downloads.php

========================

Yes that's right,

We've finally released what we've been working on in our spare time the last seven months. Dolphin is an experimental GameCube emulator that so far runs quite a few games somewhat, but most are pretty slow. Keep in mind that this release is just a preview, if it works good for you, if it doesn't please don't cry too much in the forum!

Have fun!

Recommended games to try (of course your own ripped GCMs of your legally bought discs):
Bust-a-Move 3000 (fully playable)
Crazy Taxi (slow, gfx glitches)
Zelda (slow, gfx glitches)
Mario (slow, gfx glitches)
18 Wheeler (slow, gfx glitches)
Ikaruga (slow, gfx glitches, crashes after four waves, but still cool)
and more..

F|RES, ector and schibo
