You buy a games console to play games on. For the sheer choice, peripheral support and broad appeal etc, go with a PS2.
Plus, the DMS3 opens up many new horizons to the PS2. The XBoX is too much like a PC computer and this shows in the sales charts. Plain and simple opinion from me - Go with the PS2 - You won't regret it!
