Swapping HDD's

would it be possible to do a straight swap of hdd's from one xbox to another?? cos I have a x2 lite+ modchip here, but a v1.3 xbox, whereas my mate has a v1/v1.1 box but wants to use live. so my plan was to do a swap with him, but let him keep his hdd with all his saves etc on it

anyways, hdd's have keys that are locked to the mobo. In order to switch HDD's, you will have to unlock the drives via evox, then switch them. When they are unlocked, the xbox cannot go on xbox live or you will get banned.

May I ask why your friend doesn't just use his xbox to go online?

All Live enabled games install xbox live automatially, when you go online. And your modchip is compatable with your xbox. Would it not be easier to just mod your xbox and let your friend use his for online play?

cos the chip I have atm isnt compatible with a 1.3 box, but it is with a v1/v1.1, which is what he has

so my plan was to swap xbox's with him, but I dont have a mem card so it makes it difficult to swap the save games over( unless there is another way of doing it??)

oh, i thought your chip was an x2.2 lite+, which is compatable with v1.3 xbox's. Must have ordered it quite a while ago because not many poeple carry the 2.1's anymore. That and they are not produced anymore.

Anyways, do any of you have a memory card and either the game 007:AUF or Mechassult?

new problem!!

I've managed to get the chip installed into a v1 box, but there is slight gfx corruption on screen(small lines everywhere)

when I try to run the ozxflash disk, it get upto where it says

and just stops. I;ve tried swapping the dvd drives incase it was having probs reading the disk, but to no avail!!

any ideas??

u can only swap it in the modded xbox
the other one wont be able to use the new hdd

do yuo press the eject buttoin yourself?

After it is loaded, there will be a message saying that the tray will open automatically shortly. Same for closing it.

the only thing I get to do is put the first disk(ozxflash) and close the drive - it then stops with the message shown above

i have no idea whats going on. When you stick the ozxflash software into the dvd drive, it is supposed to start it. Then say something like "the dvd tray will open in aprox. 1 minute, do not pres the eject button". Then it pops open, and ur supposed to stick a disk with the bios u want to flash, named bios.bin. It closes and powers off by itself.

What kind of media are u running it off of? dvd, cd-r,cd-rw,dvd-rw?
