I have bought a legit Rugby 2004 game but it wont run and comes up with "Cannot Locate CD-ROM". I have updated all my drivers, closed all running progs in Task Manager but still no joy. Any suggestions? EA Sports helpline think it might be because I have a CD RW. Don't most people now! Any help welcome.

If your CD-RW is new....it's a very big problem.
If it's an old one...don't be supprised. Please tell us your specific, hardwares and softwares. Or use no-cd fix! |

hmm safedisc 2 protected.. perhaps you have a blacklisted program installed on your system such as alcohol, daemon etc, because if these are installed (and you are using a legitimate cd) the cdcheck will fail which would explain whats happening ...

The CD RW is LG GCE 8240B
OS is XP I am running CloneCD and Nero - would this have an affect? Are these blacklisted? Do you know where I can find a no cd fix for this game? Many thanks

Some versions of Clonecd come with a virtual cd program, make sure that's not running.

yep i think clonecd virtual drive (if not the clonecd drivers themselves) could well be blacklisted.. nero afaik is not blacklisted (considering it isnt really a threat when it comes to copying protected cd's as it cant really do any heh)
