Help flashing X-Executer 2.2 Pro

To anyone that can help me. I recently purchased a 2.2pro. I have installed it and I belive it IS installed correctly. When I purchased the mod-chip I was told that it came with Cromwell 1.8 Linux bios installed on it. I had read before that the X2.2pro came with no bios whatsoever installed on it. So I dont know what to believe. Well, When I tried to boot up nothing happened. So I then figured that there was no bios installed on it. With that in mind I downloaded the X-Bios manager and hooked that up. I hooked up the cables, powered on my xbox with the 4th dip switch (Write Protect) flipped up. This is what i read I was suposed to do. I then ran the X-Bios manager and checked the info button. It reads 01 D5 which I read it was supposed too. I loaded the x-ecuter 4973 bios in all four banks and hit write. It starts writing then right after it hits 100% I get a prompt stating It read somthing, but it had expected something else. After multiple time of this I started reading the forums over and over and found a post saying that to start with you need the standard RCA cable hook up that came with the XBOX. That the Cromwell 1.8 bios had something with it that most likely would NOT allow the HD or S-Video pack (I Have S-Video Pack) to operate with it. That it is a limitation in the Cromwell bios. So with that said I found this out after I tryed to flash my chip. So now I dont know if it is installed correctly still. The main thing I read in the article is that the DB25 Male/Female Serial/Parallel cable CANNOT be over 3Ft in length. Whats up with this? Is this why I am getting the expected this, but got that prompts? Has anyone successfully flashed their chip with a longer than 3Ft cable? Like say a 6Ft cable? I have looked all over town for a 3ft or shorter DB25 /male/female cabe and cant find one anywhere. If this is a big part of my problem can someone please point me in the right direction of where to get one. Thanks in advance for any help someone can give me.

I didn't use the rgb cables and everything was fine

Try it either way but i would suggest checking you modchip out you should have seen a cromwell screen if it was installed correctly and second are you using a programmer with the x2 cable or x2 cable pro program? If so use the bios manager to make a bios.bin with the same bios in all four banks and save it to the same folder you install x2cable so you have a 1024 bios.bin file. i suggest saving x2 to a folder called x2 in the root c drive ex c:\x2\
Now to get to the Command Prompt in windows XP and 98

XP > Start Menu,Run, cmd in the window < type cd\Then the name of the folder where x2cable.exe is .

98 > Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, ms-dos Prompt< type cd\ Then the name of the folder where x2cable.exe is .

so in the command pompt just type
cd\ C:\x2 then < C:\x2 > x2cable w bios.bin

Command Prompts for x2cable.exe are..

x2cable i Display mfg + Device code
x2cable e erase a bios.
x2cable r filename.bin Read bios into a file " filename.bin can be any name you want.
x2cable w filename.bin flash bios with a file "any 1 meg bios file".

trust me if you get any issues try try again it is running on windows and we all know how funny windows can be certain errors mean to check your connection i just made mine the wireless version and i don't unplug anything but my printer since i need the port. It sometimes gets to 6% and crashes and then then 10% just do it again if any errors pop up do it again i have done so many chips it always works so much better then the cdrw way. It works we all have tried to defrag on windows 98 and watch it start over and over and over same kinda idea don't give up it'll work. Just check your connections to the printer port and the usb cable i turn my sytem off and plugin and then on then reverse for removal less chance of a shock throught the mobo.

to make it wireless no 3ft cable

Remove the screws from the programmer you will be using the metal guard with 2 SMALL dots of super glue diagonally across from each other !!!!!CAUTION!!!!! must be maintained so you don't permanently attach the programmer to your printer port. first gently slide the guard around the printer port then slide the programmer in until it hits the metal guard so it will allign then wait 5 seconds and gently remove the programmer withthe metal guard now attached to it. then press firmly for ten sec and thats it.
