TRON 2.0 backup query DVD-CDR?

Tron isn't actually released till later today in the UK so I don't have it yet but I understand it is being circulating on DVD - is this gonna give me the same hassle as MGS- Substance?

I did make a backup of MGS-Substance from the superb guide povided on this forum, but it proved such a hassle and time consuming job:

a: to do
and
b: to install from

that I've actually never used it & just install from the original DVD

If it ever fails I guess I'll have to resort to my HDD killing 10cd-r backup - and then all fun playing with the registry

I'm just wondering how tron is best backed up - previous Lithtech engine games (AvP NoLF etc) haven't been particularly space eating.

I assume the game isn't going to be zipped into nice little self extracting 640mb packets for my convenience - wouldn't that be nice!

I'm going to be doing this in later today and my 1st thoughts on how to do it is:-

Winrar it up onto multiple cd's, unpack it to a temp directory then install straight from the HDD, delete the image and then use a no DVD patch.

Will that work - or will that not put the reg keys in - or give me other problems.

I expect you guys know how to do it, so I thought I'd ask first, I guess it's out in the US already as the NO DVD crack is available. So you guys probably have already done it.

non-fic

p.s. IT IS ON DVD ISN'T IT??? I'm not completely wasting your and my time??

its on cd's bud. 2 of em. not sure of the size of each cd, but its a 2.4gig install, so maybe 750mb or 800each. aint copied it yet cause i aint got any blank's lol

weird tho, when i clone-cd'd them for copying l8r, the occupancy on blindwrite (i use clone to copy, and blind to write it out. works for me) was 60% (ish) on the first cd and 35% roughly on the 2nd.

hmm..
