Indiana Jones PS2 Problems
Hi there,
I have got problems with Indiana Jones on the PS2, not major league problems, but annoying niggles. The gameplay itself appears ok, but when I get to the Prague Introduction, the movie playback just goes haywire. I have copied the game using both Nero and RecordNow Max, reading and writing at 1x. I have used Bulkpaq media (which I hear sucks) and have also tried Datasafe and Datawrite with Ritek purple dye at the bottom of the disc. Has anybody else experienced this problem, and if so did you manage to overcome it?

Were you using RecordNow Max 4.50? Is your burner and media capable of 2x? If so try 2x. 1x can actually cause a worse burn at times.

Hi Bighap,
Yes I was using RecordNow Max 4.5, and my Pioneer A05 can burn from x1-x4 speed.

I would try burning your datasafe at 2x and if you still have no luck try a different brand such as Ritek or Traxdata.

Ritek
Hi Bighap,
You'll have to forgive me for asking this, but I am quite new to the scene, so am learning as I go along, but am I right in saying that Ritek is a type of dye on the disc, as well as a disc manufacturer? Also, can you get the Ritek discs in the UK do you know? Steve

Ritek dye is dark purple. Traxdata and Ridata use Ritek dye. You can get both Ritkek and Traxdata from www.blankdiscshop.co.uk

If u tried dark purple dye dvd-r then u should be fine. Can't understand why it wouldn't work.
Yes, bulkpaq suck in a big way. The write surface is way too light an as bighap said, if u burn them too slow u can overfry the write surface. Having said that, some games will still work okay on bulkpaq but yr seriously stressing yr laser using them an it will shorten the lifespan. I used Record Now DX 4.6 and a Traxdata 4X (burned at 4 speed) to back up Indy an it works flawlessly. Can't understand why yrs doesn't. I always use Traxdata an haven't had a bad burn yet. My m8 always uses dvdmaster (www.wcwmedia.com) an he claims the same. Both r branded ritek dye discs so give them a go. U could also try giving yr ps2 laser a clean wiv a cleaning disc. Regards

Game
The game itself is ok - I've got to the Prague level so far and it's the Prague Introduction movie that screws up big time, when Indy is talking to the chinese bloke and bird! I just get flashes of brown screen, and the movie sound skips and repeats itself!
So is your intro movie in Indy - Prague level ok?

Sorry it taken so long to get back to u......and um probably the wrong question to ask on the forum ( ref. above question).
When u drop the back-up into ur dvd rom and try to read an image back off of it does it come up okay? Also, while u r burning the image r u doing anything else on yr computer and r all the background processes shut off?? And ref. the above question.....don't ask stuff like that and PM me if u need any info......... Regards
