Unhappy Please Help Me.....Cannot Backup Anything!!

I am totally new at this....please help me. I purchased a mod chip for my PS2 version 7, but I cannot burn any games. Why is this? I put the game in my CD-rom and a CD-R into my burner, but my computer will not read the media. Is there something that I am doing wrong? Is it not like burning a regular audio CD? Do I need some special program or something? Any replies would be greatly appricated. Thank you very much.

I have tried burning different games. Eg: Red Faction, The Getaway.

ok they are dvd games so you will need a dvd burner to be able to burn them games, there is no way you can burn them on a cd writer , you can get rip kits that will allow you to rip the dvd so it will fit onto multiple cd's but you will lose fmv music and stuff like that and u will need a dvd-rom so it will be able to read the disc , i would get a dvd writer as they are so cheap now as ripping games are not easy unless u real know what u are doing
