Problem with PAL Game on NTSC PS2

I am trying to play an original import PS2 PAL game on my NTSC PS2 with a Magic 3.1 installed. I get a Black and white screen that 1/4 down from the top of the Screen. Does the magic 3.1 have a problem with PAL to NTSC. Any suggestions?

That has to do with your TV's framerate. You can either back up the PAL game patch it with a PAL-2-NTSC patch for your specific game (this is the cheapest way out).

Or you can buy a host of other correctional devices that fix the framerate of whatever you play in your ps2.

You could try the ntsc to pal vmode exchanger available from MEGAGAMES ps2 utilities section.

First you would have to make a bin image of your original on your hard drive, then just load that into vmode exchanger and click the GO PATCHING button.

If it works it will say something like 17bytes written patch successfull.

You don't need any individual game patches and it works both ways pal to ntsc or ntsc to pal.
