ColinMcRae3, Fade-Copy-Protect

I notice there was a thread about this very problem.
Is it true? Will Colin McRae 3 fade... even if i used a full installation of the original game. Will the no-cd crack effect my game proformance? I like using no-cd cracks because I hate playing around with cd's. But if the game is going to fade away.. which I havent seen for the past 2 weeks now.. Will it?

Any info will be good.

thanks

Billy

FADE is to my knowledge only used in Operation Flashpoint and only kicks in when you use a pirate serial. In CM3, securom new + triggers are used. The triggers are certain places in the program where the programmers call a securom function to see if the program was cracked and if that 'trigger' wasn't removed by the cracker, this will result in weird game behaviour, an example would be TOCA race driver were suddenly every car crashes. Triggers can be removed, but the crackers have to find them all and this can mean playing through the game several times to make sure all triggers are gone. That's why there are more and more bad cracks, but making cracks for it isn't impossible, just a bit more difficult than usual. As always, if you use Alcohol120% then you can play from the hard disk without any crack.

No, read this thread. Operation Flashpoint is the ONLY game where FADE is used. Rincewind is right: Colin McRae Rally 3 has Securom + Triggers but NO FADE.

the 'fade' logo is shown on startup screen.
but it wonīt kick in cuz you donīt need a serial.

the securom triggers makes the game crash
or other funny things happen (like in ToCA Race Driver

I've a problem.

I've burnt my 3 CDS from alcohol .mds & .mdf files, using RMPS.

I've enabled RMPS in Alcohol emulation and the extra emulation.

But each time i run the game the Colin Mcrae3/FADE lgoo appears and the game exits to the desktop.

Can anyone help?

I've tried to mount the image using alcohol too but i get the same response.

Also I've tried to Dev fixed EXE for 1.1 (after applying the patch), and even with the deviance patch i still get the same screen/exit to desktop?

I suspect theres something on my system thats picked up by the triggers and doesnt let it play.

I do have the latets Alchohol release, build711, does anyone know if this has been blacklisted? or offer any other suggestions.

Does the same thing happen with the original cd?
I had this problem and read in the readme that my graphics card wasn't supported, i've since bought a new one and it works fine.

well, i tried to play the colin3 v1.1 with the deviance no-cd ... no luck. looks like some kind of slide show. unplayable. funny thing is, when the sound is turned off, it runs smoothly. but i can't live without sound. so i'll stick to inserting the original cds over and over again *sigh*.
