What am I doing wrong?

Trying to get some burned games to run. Playing with Crazy Taxi and Rally 2. Both are CUE/BIN versions.

I was able to burn a .cdi of Silent Scope, which is self-booting, with DiscJuggler, and it works fine. I burned a .cdi of the Utopia boot CD with DiscJuggler, as well, and it appears to work fine -- boots up and tells me to put in the disc.

So what I did with the CUE/BIN games...used AutoDummy to pad out the BIN file to fill the 80min CD I'm using (Memorex). Using CDRWIN 3.8c, load CUE file and burn. Burns fine, no errors.

Put in the burned disc after the boot cd...boot screen changes to silver reindeer rotating around and just stays there -- I've left it there for up to a half-hour to see if it was a long-load scenario, but no luck. The exact same thing happens if I use a non-dummied BIN, as well. I also tried burning the discs at 1x speed, and that didn't help, either.

Am I missing something? I did the same thing with the Rally BIN, with the same result. They're the only two BINs I have right now. I just can't get games to work with the Boot CD.

Any suggestions?

Burner: HP cd-writer 8100 series, flashed to 1.0n.

Hey, thanks to Paul...his post in another thread led me to his site, where I managed to get Crazy Taxi working with Isobuster+DummyFile+Nero. Now I'm going to try Rally and see if I can get that to work.

Thanks.

Tried Rally -- burned and loaded, but the game did not work. In ISOBuster, the Sega Rally 2 BIN had two "directories" in it -- one with a red "ISO" rectangle and one with a blue ">>>" rectangle. The contents looked identical.

Am I supposed to somehow extract both of these items? I extracted only the ISO one and left the >>> one alone.

Any suggestions?

I'm getting pretty good at answering my own questions. The different icons in ISOBuster just represent different file systems in the image.

Still no idea why the burn of Rally 2 didn't work.

Okay, hopefully someone with Sega Rally 2 experience can help me out here. This is what happens with the burned disc:

I boot up with the boot CD. Put in Rally disc. Does it's loading thing, shows me the sega rally graphic.

Then it goes to a white screen, then a screen with meaningless lines of text. If I hit start on this screen, I get to a screen with a series of yellow rectangles on a black background. I can move through these rectangles as if it were a menu screen, but selecting a rectangle brings up more unreadable random junk characters, or a black screen.

Any suggestions?

hi its me

right you shouldn't have had a problem with sega rally 2 using my method!

right then when you open the .bin with isobuster you'll see loads of files and folders, just highlight and extract them all into a new folder, then add a dummy file to make it to about 640mb, then when you open nero and pull all the files accross make sure you make all the files priorities to 'high', even the ones in the folders

also make sure your using the right settings

just go to my site for them
