Killer Instinct/Mameox boot problems

Has anyone managed to get Killer Instinct to boot on Mameox. I've managed to get the emulator to reconize it and to read the Roms. However, it can't find the CHD file. I've tried copying it to the hdimages directory, which i changed to F:\hdimages, tried Zipped and unzipped, etc.

the ki rom is like over 100 meg aint it?

the reason i believe it aint working for you is because emulators load the roms into the ram of the xbox and the xbox only has what...64 megs of it, the only way around it i believe is to add more ram from another xbox to put it up to like 128 megs of ram

The emulator isn't giving me any memory low error's, as it loads in the roms perfectly. It's just having problems finding Kinst.chd file.

I don't know if mameox works exactly like the pc version, but here we go:

zipped roms must be inside \roms
UNZIPPED CHD files must be inside \roms\gamename\

where gamename is the name of the CHD.

So you should have something like

\roms\ki.zip (the small rom file)
\roms\ki\ki.chd (the big HD image)

Xbox ram is not an issue, since Mame should load from CHD only the levels you are playing, not the entire CHD.
This happens only if you zip the CHD, which is not a smart move.

I suppose this is ok on both PC and XBOX.

I've encountered the same problem. But now, I can get the game to boot, but it's not playable, veeeeeeerrrrrryyyyyyyssssssslllllloooooooowwwwwww, anyway, this is the setup that I have, my "HDIMAGES" folder, is in my Mameox folder. Here's my setup

f:\emulators\arcade\HDIMAGES\KINST\kinst.chd
f:\emulators\arcade\Roms\kinst.zip

ALSO!!!! The game will only work on this MameoX Version
0.71.1b The newer release, 0.71.2b says it's out of memory. So if you want to watch Killer Instinct, lmao, use MameoX version 0.71.1b Hope that helps!

Expect KI to work more properly in the future.. Kawa-X also supports those 90 meg babies as Garou and kof2k1 (and with some hax even 2k2) and runs 100%. I'm sure they'll find a way. Although on PC KI asks quite some horsepower...
