Ps2 Fan Question

My fan has just died, so i was looking into a replacement.

I've heard some good things about this USB fan system:
http://www.richspsxparts.com/usbfan.html

What I want to know is, if this could take the place of the original fan (removing the old fan makes me take out the drive, after I finally got the ribbon cable attached to it ). Is it better/worse? Any help would greatly appreicated.

Thx in advance.

I wouldn't just use the usb fan. Your system will likely overheat. Use that in conjunction with your normal system fan. You can get a replacemnet fan at www.modchip-sbox.com

yo

Believe it or not my uncle recently got a messiah2 pro installed and not to long later his fan burnt out. He took the cover off the ps2 and ran a fan on the metal part and it worked fine. To this day he still does it.

Actually, what happened was, I was replacing a reset/eject ribbon cable, and i yanked too hard on the fan plug, and it ripped out the wires.

So i just wire-stripped them, and shoved'em in their respective slots (had to guess), works fine now lol.
