ADX player problems. Please help.

When I tried to play the .bgm files from Tech Romancer with Cinepack (AKA:adxplay.exe) it didn't work. Yeah, I know. I shouldn't have done that. But now, for some reason, it won't play ADX files either. I have tried everything. I have even downloaded the ADX plug-in for winamp, and for some reason, it says that the ADX file I have selected to play is not an ADX file. What's wrong? I have tried to convert new adx files, and it does the same with those. Can someone please help me?
