How do i know my chip and BIOS ?

Well there is a guy that knows a guy that puts modchips.I asked him what mod do i have and he told me that he puts the latest and blablabla.(he didnt want to answer.I have it 8 months now)

Is there a way to learn what chip do i have and what bios ?
I have installed EvoX and in the bios area it says ''uknown''.And i worry.

Why i worry ? Because i heard that many games need one of the newest bios.I backed up some games(Rayman 3,The sims,BloodRayne) but i have problems with some.Dead or alive 3,The two Towers,while fifa 2003 can be played only from my HD.(In DVD it freezes after the xbox logo.)
I also hear that the latest games need patching.Well in isocraxtion when i hit the patch option it says (to all except Rayman i think) that they dont have to be patched.While the same option in Xiso v.115 it says ''patched corectly''.I also read that there arent separate patches for games (like computers program cracks)

Anyway i am confused.The essence is to play these games and i think that the problem is the bios.
Can someone help ??

The only way to know what chip you have is by opening up your xbox and looking.

You had the chip for 8 months, so it might not be a flashable one. If it is reflashable, then you can just upgrade the bios. If it is one of the older chips like x-ecuter v1, then you will either have to patch the games, or get a new chip.

my first xbox was chipped 10 months ago with a chip which can not be flash upgraded and the bios is also shown as unknown but i have well over 150 games including all those mentioned by you and i have backed up every one of these using the data burn method and all work flawlessley on this xbox.
