questions...

unmodded v1.0 xbox

ok I am thinking about getting the matrix mod chip, but I don't want to have to install a mod chip at all(I will if I need). well I have a question about a possible way to get around modchips and some questions about the matrix mod chip
1.can I just put the xbox hdd into my pc and switch the microsft dashbord with the evox dashbord?
2. is the matrix compatible with hdd swap?
3.is the matrix compatible with evox bios?
4.is there an external mod chip out?

Ya you can use EvoX's BIOS on the Matrix. You can use any 256 (512?)k BIOS on the chip.

As for an external BIOS, there isnt one. There is some work being done with memory cards and bugs in some games that will allow EvoX to load. The only other way to get around a modchip is with the "007 trick" and flashing the TSOP.

Quall999 is on a distinguished road
Flashing the tsop is completely replacing the current bios in the xbox with hacked ones, which is what a modchip does by forcing the xbox to boot off modded harware. But the bios are in your xbox insteda of the chip.

The downside is that there is no disable switch (unless you put one on yourself, but I have never seen a tutorial on how to put dual bios on your xbox). This pretty much crushes going on XBL.

The upside is that you don't need a modchip
