OFF TOPIC---> But i need help

i have searched the net for awhile now but could still not find what i was looking for.

My question is " I am running Windows XP home and my speakers do not work any more, I have dial up and when i turn on my speaks i can hear it dial but on messeger i hear no nosies and i cant lissen to music. I d/led the audio Drivers again and installed but still no sound"

If no one can help i wud oppreacte a good fourm where i cud ask!!

try going to control panel /sounds and audio devices....look around and see if you have anything's volume really low....

i assume, that u're volume isn't muted, check speaker connections, see if you can mess w/ the modem volume...if that doesn't work, completly uninstall the sound drivers..then reinstall...i'm not at my home comp..so i can't look around w/ xp...but i'll see what else

i deleted the audio driver and installed the audio driver that i d/led. And still i get the same result. No sound except for dialing up!

Run dxdiag and go to sound tab, then let us know what you see at device section or take a screen shot and post here.

i am not 100% sure of the sound tab u were talking about but here is the one i think u were talking about! THE FILE IS TOO BIG TO ATTACH!!

i just wanted to know what sound card you have and is it primary sound device or not?

Ok here is the thing from the proggy u sugested. i saved it and attached it(it is only the info from the sound section..All of it was to big to attach..If u need more jus ask for it).

You have realtek ALC 650 like me

, did you run direct sound test completely ?(at sound tab). because you got failure and I think you pressed no buttun during direct sound test . your result shoud be like this,

I think there is a error in direct X files, try reinstalling direct X and you can also go to direct X files tab and check for files problem. this a pic. of my direct X files tab,

Your realtek dirver is very old. you can get new driver from realtek.com.tw unfortunately their server currently is down, here is a mirror link that you can get new driver,

What do u mean u think there is an error in direct X? How do i reinstall it? i am curently d/ling the newer drivers!! Do u think the updated driver will fix my problem?

Sometimes one of directX files get damaged because of bad shutdown,.....
for reinstalling directX, go to microsoft website and download it from there. pls note, you can't unistall directX, only you can reinstall it.
Maybe the updated driver fix your problem. after updating driver, if you still have no sound, go for reinstalling directX, after that if you still have no sound then I don't know what's the problem

Good to hear that. yeah the old driver was buggy.
