Nero question
i read a post somewhere that nero would convert a PAL encoded movie to NTSC. Is this true? If it is, could someone tell me what i have to select when burning an image to make the conversion. I've tried burning this a few times and i can get it to play in my portable dvd player, but it will not play in my Sony DVP_S330. I have removed the region lock with dvddecryptor but the PAL encoding is what is causing the problems now. Any help would be appreciated.
p.s. if nero can't convert it, does anyone know of any program that will do it. thanks jeff

Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator 6 will convert PAL-NTSC or vice versa...

How do you not convert pal to ntsc "not well"? Converting is converting.

Seriously? Roxio down (or up) samples MPG2 better than TMPGEnc? I know a lot of people that would gainsay you. I'm betting that yes, at the default settings it might. But then again, PAL->NTSC is not entirely straightforward in either Mainconcept OR TMPGEnc, you have to remember to add pulldown filters and cropping, etc. etc.

Yes.... Seriously....
I have used it and it works OUTSTANDING! Even with all the setting on Tmpgenc I still get better results with Roxio..... (Go ahead and string me up now )

No, no stringing. I'm willing to give it a shot.
Roxio are masters of "borrowing" really good algorithms from other companies. The issue, of course, is... will Roxio 6 bung up my system like 4 and 5 did? And can you get it to convert and NOT burn? - Gurm

Roxio 4 and 5 gave me problems also...
I havent encountered ANY problems with this yet. Yes you can have it convert and not burn.. You just have to select advanced options and choose save to hard disk. NOTE: Make sure you are running NFTS file system on your drive, otherwise you will run into problems. (At least with movies over the 4 gig mark)
