Battlefield 1.4 cracked requesting CD-drive
hi everybody, I don know if this is the place to put this question, if is not, forgive me...
I used the noCD crack for battlefield 1.4 (I downloaded in this page) and worked very well, BUT the game only runs if the CD-Rom drive is connected in my computer... if I try to take off the drive, tha game doesnīt run.. it only runs if the drive is connected (even if is empty)... What should I do? Thanks a lot Leonardo

Install either Daemon Tools or Alcohol120%. These will create a "virtual" cdrom drive, and so the game will continue loading even if there's no "real" drive. You only have to install one of these programs, you don't even have to mount an image or something like that.

ok I will try this ..... thank you..
i have a last question.. I tryied to make an image from my battlefieldīs CD and I couldnt, every time I try, the transfer is too slow, it says that will take a lot of hours... is it some kind of protection?

BF1942 is protected with Safedisk2.
The sectors ~800 to ~10000 are Bad Sectors, so it will take some time to make an image. But not so long CloneCD/alcohol tells to you. With my LiteOn CD-RW it take never over 10 minutes to dump an image of a SD2 protected cd. I prefer Alcohol 120% to make the image. Its faster than CloneCD (I think).

Those safedisc2 sectors CAN take up to over an hour, but once they're done, the rest of the cd goes at the usual speed. Incidentally, if you use ALcohol120% to make an image and mount that, it will enable you to play without any crack, and with most future patches. I play this way.

This CD-Rom-less question for bf1942 has been discussed before, but I would think that just installing the lastest Daemon Tools would be enough.
The system would then think it has a CDROM drive which is all he needs for the crack. But mounting the image would take care of future update issues.
