LPT Problems Flashing BIOS

Anyone have any ideas?

Trying to flash the bios of my Matrix w/Programmer. (It does light red as soon as it's attached to the LPT port.)
Tried 2 computers with XP (Xodus Software) and WinLPC.
Tried various delay settings in both apps.
Tried various settings in Windows Hardware Manager (LPT).
Still Nothing?

Can anyone send me their LPT (Windows settings)?

I most cases no adjustments are needed. Make sure your battery is fresh out of the package. This is the mosy common problem I head of. Other than that there is a small possibilty of getting a bunk programmer but I doubt it.

I tried numerous batteries- 2 right out of the package brand new.
I'm starting to think that the programmer is damaged as the FED EX package it came in was. (Bent pins and such.)

I don't really know what else to try.
If someone could post the Windows settings for their LPT port I'd really appreciate it. Thanx.

It might be your computer. I had to try it on 3 different computers until it worked.

It works with all PCs. Just some times its a pain to get it to work with some.
Like on mine, I have to pinch the chip and the programmer together while holding some presser on it to the parallel port.

Also a lot of times winLCP is the prob. This program is the biggest POS program ever written. It will work some times… I have talked to a lot of people who say to have to put the delay up so sigh it takes 30min to program the chip.

I would really suggest using wmilk to flash your Matrix. Its so much easier than trying to screw around with winLPC.

Heres a quick run down on how to program your Matrix using wmilk, don't mind my spelling errors.

Create a new folder and name it matrix on your C drive.

Put ntiosupp.dll, wmilk.exe, and your BIOS in this folder, and name your BIOS mybios.bin

Now your going to want to open a DOS command prompt. Start > Run > and type cmd or command and hit OK.

Now you need to change directorys. Do this by typing cd .. and hitting enter. Do this until you are in C:, then type cd matrix and and you should now be in C:\matrix.

Now heres the command line for wmilk to flash your Matrix.

wmilk -c -a ffc00000 -v -p mybios.bin

Just type that in and hit enter and let it do its thing.

Here is a pic of the DOS command promt. Its not 100% like how I said to do it, but you get the idea.

If you got any more questions, just ask.

Worked!!!

Got a new chip (replacement) and after trying about 50 times with winLPC, XP (Xodus Programmer Software) and wmilk on my laptop, nothing worked.

Tried XP on my AMD CPU and it worked 1st time !!!

So it must on been a bad chip initially and "incompatible" with my Laptop LPT port.

Thanks for your help guys !!!
