CloneCD and Creating an Image

I am trying CloneCD. As a test I copied Rise of Nations, and discovered that I had an image copy on my HD, and can now play the game without having the CD in the drive!

I would like to be able to do this with Age of Mythology. I don't need a backup copy, just the ability to use a HD image instead of the key disk.

Can someone step me through the steps I need to take. In particular,
Do I need to create an image of both CDs?
Do I also need the standard install on the HD?

Thanks

It's a simple enough process...create the image using Clone CD or Alcohol 120%, and then use the program's options to 'mount' the image to the virtual drive(s) that it created.
You will only need to 'mount' the play disk - ie the disk that you normally have to insert when playing the game.

I would recommend using Alcohol's virtual drives.

Thanks for the reply. I am VERY new to this. (2 days) And am only familiar with CloneCD so don't want to try different software yet.

I did this, and it works, but I'm not sure why.

I removed Age of Mythology from my computer. Then I used CloneCD to put CD 1 (which is also the key CD) as an image on to my hard drive.

I removed the CD from the drive, and ran the image. I assumed that it would install AoM (including CD # 2) onto my HD. And I assumed that all it would do is not require the key CD in the drive.

However, it simply started the game and allowed me to play! But, I had not installed CD # 2! I suspect that there are scenarios on CD 2 that I was not trying to access.

But, my questions are.
What do I do with CD 2?
Do I use CloneCD to create an image of that on my HD
Do I create the image in the same area as CD # 1

I surely appreciate your help, but when you respond, please don't make any assumptions about what I know..cos I know nuttin'! Thanks again.
