GC backup

I read on the internet that these GC discs can't be read by a normal dvd-rom drive. it has to do with the inner data band that is located near the middle of this disc. this data band has "alien code" that a normal dvd-rom drive can't read. so when you put the disc in a dvd-rom drive most drives won't even try to spin up the disc. this is more protection from ninitendo.
