Can anyone out there help me?? I bought my PS2 about 2 christmases ago and I once had it repaired for disk read errors with Cdrom games. I bought Xenosaga not too long ago and I've been playing it fine up until all of a sudden. I have 40 hours of gameplay so far, but I bought .hack and played that before playing xenosaga again, now, xenosaga won't even start up, and displays disk read error. Now, I've read that Xenosaga is a dual layered DVD disk. Could this be too much power for my 2 year old DVD lazer to handle? Or could it be the game?? Does anyone have any help they could give me? Should I have my lazer replaced with the newest model, or should I try to get a new Xenosaga? Thanks, please help...

It is the laser. Try a cleaning disc first and if it still a no go try adjusting it.
