Question Stronghold: Crusader

Greetings.... please advise someone getting back into the CD Copying. I hail from the good old days where you copied your files to the HD, made an ISO, then wrote that ISO to media, insuring the volumn names matched!

Anyways, I have been trying now for a week to copy the above game as a first test. Firstly, I tried Clone CD by itself. Then I downloaded ClonyXL. Then I tried Alchohol 120%.

Nothing... nadda..... about 10 coasters.

I then updated/upgraded the system, as well as firmware. Reinstalled CloneCD. Installed ClonyXXL. Installed a profiler per XXL suggestion now that they don't support anything but ID'ing the protection used. Coaster.....

I am baffled at this point. ClonyXL says the game is SD 2.8 while XXL says it is 2.7. In the profiler, I selected the SD 2.53 thru 2.8 option. At this point, I have no idea what is going on. Oh, and I didn't try to run the CD on the machine that burned it since that machine is used ONLY for writing CD's.. the test machine has a brand new Lireon CD reader (although, it also was tested with a Aopen CD reader as well, and that too failed)

Here is my set up:

P3 866
Asus P3V4X mobo
Liteon 24103B w/ latest firmware
512 megs of ram
XP Pro (no sp installed)

Any help would be appretiated.

PS: I have a TON of old media going back a few years. Since most of the reading and writing of newer stuff is done using slow speeds, is the old media OK to use?
