LBA patches are for game images (cdi or iso) that are organised in such a way that they cannot be written by many burners. They use a 300 sector track for the first session, which alot of burners can't do (thats why alot of people get buffer-underruns). LBA patches reorganise the image so that they can be burned properly. However, LBA patches aren't actually needed anymore, if you follow the guide 'Buffer underrun:SOLVED' on www.dccopies.co.uk.
