They do match. They never moved the D0 on the user side of the board. Look a little harder.

thanks for the rplies lads but my problem is this:
in the pic that quall referred me to there is a component on the board with a large + sign and some numbers on it is not on the new pal machines, there is a smaller component with no writing on surface and i just want to certain that this is the right component to solder to before i install the mod..
thanks again

Hmmm, I'm at a total loss. I know more about whats happing a 1000 miles away from here than I know about the cheapmod.

Have you all ready bought the chip yet? If not, get and spend a little more money and buy an X2 lite or pro, or if you have bought it, buy an X2 any way.

glad to say i can put this to bed now,
rms2001 stated "They do match. They never moved the D0 on the user side of the board. Look a little harder" I can confirm that although the component is smaller the Do points (underneath) do work so thanks again.
To the chip suppliers (you know who you are) you just lost a customer through lack of feedback,,,nice one!

Great, good to see it working.
I dont know WTF I was thinking before, all you have to do is connect the D0 to ground. Dont matter where, just as long as you ground it out.
