Missing chapter after backup

Hey folks,
Any ideas why some of the movies I backupn turn out to start about 15 minutes into the movie.
I use Smart ripper 2.41 and then DVD2one for compression, finally I use Prassi for the burn.

I notice that the info file generated after using smart ripper shows that chapter 1 has a 0 next to it and all the rest have numbers signifing something.

let me know.

Cheers

Are you selecting all the files when you extract?

But in the Files section do you select all the files to be ripped? Or do you just leave it to default.

There is a window in smart ripper called stream processing, this is where i select the files mentioned in my last reply, and this is sometimes already selected by smart ripper.
is ther some other box in the settings window i should select?
At present the only thing I have changed is the maximum file size, changed to 4.7GB

You should goto the Files section of Smartripper and select the All button to put a tick in all the files. Now this should rip the entire DVD to the hard drive.

Ok from now on, when you get to the main screen of SmartRipper, look to the left where the button says FILES. Then click it. Now it should show all your files and only have the movie selected. What you have to do is press the ALL button under it. Now you can continue with your extraction of the full disc.

When using DVD2one you can use your old ways of shrinking, thats totally up to you. But you will find that you get the entire movie from now on.

Try DVD Decrypter. Very reliable.

Or better still try DVD Shrink (for free) and it will do everything for at the touch of a few buttons.

Give it a go and see what you think

I wouldnt recommend DVDShrink over DVD2One because dvdshrink doenst remove Macrovision and it doesnt do anything about the layer break that is on quite a few dual layered dvds. DVD2one fixes both those problems.

DVDdecrypter is good. But if Smartripper works there is no need to get dvddecrypter.

I'm only trying to simplify things. It doesn't sound from the previous posts that Smartripper works that well.

With DVD Shrink it works everytime, movie only or full, and I'm yet to see any problems with the layer break that you speak of.

As for Macrovision, I'm only interested in backing up movies, not cracking them for all and sundry to use (or sell)
