Rise of Nations trouble with NO CD patch

My brother bought the game yesterday and since you need the CD for the game, and we both play it on different computers, it gets old asking for the CD to play the game constantly.

I downloaded the latest no CD patch for Rise of Nations and it still requires the CD. I've been hearing something about an update, but I don't know if my brother's game was updated or not when he bought the game yesterday.

Is there any CD patch that will work now? I have done everything your supposed to do when you install the CD patch. I ran regsetup and replaced rise.exe.
