FFX Backup Freeze

Hi all,

I did not pay much attention to the issue of Final Fantasy X backups freezing early in the game (at a point just after Tidus is fleeing from the stadium after the sin attack) as it did not effect me as I was using an original.

Now I am trying to use a backup of FFX International and it seems to have this issue.

I am wondering - was a resolution ever found to this freeze?

Thanks!

I had the 'freeze' problem at the exact same point (it was where Tidus fled and met up with the bloke in the red with the dodgy arm, then they looked up into the sky at Sin and the gameplay froze).

If my memory is correct, my backup was made using PrimoDVD. To resolve the problem I used Nero (yes - Nero) to back-up the original, and it has worked fine since (no further gameplay freeze throughout the entire game).

Just out of curiosity, what modchip/PS2 version/DVD writer/software have you got/used ???

Hi guys,

Thanks for the response!

I've looked around Nero, and unfortunately I can't seem to find an option to create an image... Apparently the demo doesn't come with a help file either.

I've tried the PS2 verticle/horizontal with no luck either.

Anyone know anything else I might try? Maybe there is a PPF file or something?

Thanks!

Correction -

After the 5th time verticle a video played right after Auron said "look" instead if just the "freeze" of them standing around. Unfortunately the video played jerky, and THEN it froze.

This is weird... My PS2 can play Vice City on Princo media with out any problem, and I've tried Verbatim and TDK here.

Hm, is there anything else I could do?
