Yes if it'll fit onto a DVD5 then you can burn it to a dvd without compression or whatever. Just make a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder and put all the files in the video folder. Burn the two folders to disk.

don't even have to do that.
just select iso mode/ read and save the movie to the hd then select iso mode/ write and select the saved movie dvd decrypter will do the rest.

also you don't have to mess with video and audio -ts folders if you use nero express just select all the files and nero will auto sort them and create the folders etc while it's burning

If it has the CSS protection it will not work.

exactley you will still have to use a programme such as smart ripper 2.41 or dvd decrypter to remove the css incryption first. then you can use primo or record now max 4.50 would be better.
it's the same as primo only more updated and compatible.

instantcopy is good and easy to use

try using instantcopy. you can download a 14 day trial version from here [URL=http://www.pinnaclesys.com/ProductPage.asp?Product_ID=1153&Langue_ID=2]

before using instantcopy you need to dycrypt your dvd using "dvd decrypter" freeware. then load the image file of the dvd you have just created in instantcopy and bingo. job done

Does anyone know any other ways of burning a dvd9 to dvd5?

For the simplest possible DVD9-DVD5 copy, try using DVDShrink. It's free and does everything in the one program.
Haven't used it myself yet, I stick to Dvd2one.

Yes Ive used both DVDShrink and DVD2One. I personally like DVD2One better because it seems to shrink just a touch better, plus it does it without leaving the Layer Break.

I must mention that the person behind DVDShrink is currently working hard on updating his program by asking about bugs in a certain forum. I cant wait till DVDShrink V1.04.
