Replacing hard drive

I am thinking about modding my xbox with the Xecuter2 PRO chip. I want to take out the old Hard drive and put a new bigger one in. How do I take the info from the old hard drive and put it on the new one? Or is that even possible? I check evox for dummies and did a search and didn't find anything. Also, I read in some past threads where someone had problems using the evox bios on the Xecuter2 PRO and he had to end up using the Xecuter bios software instead. Isn't the Xecuter2 PRO totally compatible with the evox?
Thanks,
-Darin

Once you have you modchip installed and flash you will be able to boot EvoX. From there you will FTP into your XBox and from there you will copy drive C and E to your computer. When you get the new drive installed and formatted you will then upload C and E back to the new HDD in your XBox.

Yes any modchip is compatible with EvoX, just as long as its installed right and is flashed.

I noticed the the Xecuter 2 Pro has it's own Software for flashing the chip. Do I use the Xecuter software to flash the chip or just skip it entirely and use the Evolution X software(especially since I read that Evolutionx doesn't just flash one bank, it flashes the whole chip)?

Thanks,
-Darin

Hmmm
Well I believe the X2 Pro has a 1mg chip slit into four 256k peaces.
I think you would have to flash each peace with its own software. Now EvoX should flash what ever part of the chip is turned on. But I’m not positive on this.

Why don’t you get the X2 Lite? Its just as easy to solder in and it comes pre-flashed.
Do you really need more then one bios?

Yeah, I kinda wanted to put Evolution X in and Nexgen. I heard Nexgen is developing tools so users can create thier own screen savers and menus and so I am kinda anxious to see what they will look like. After reading the forums it seems that even though X2 Lite is great chip, I see more people having problems with it then X2 Pro. But that's just in my opinion.

I'm going to put a 27 Gigabyte WD drive into my Xbox....how should I partition the hard drive and how much space should I give for each letter? Also, is it ok for me use the NTSF format when I format it?

Thanks,

When you go to format it with EvoX, EvoX will do all the sizing for you.

As for the format... You won't be formatting it in NTSC. It will be formatted much like a PC HDD is, but in a way the XBox can use it.

Oh and by the way, NTSC is the US/Canadian TV format. As is PAL for the UK, and much the rest of the world.
