You were dead on the problem was in the evox.ini it was set to no for static IP so I went and note padded it and changed it to yes and re did the boot disc and voila I am now ftp'ing back and forth so now my big adventure awaits the swapping of the drives.

Amazing how simple it was and how big it seemed

You see where I got stuck was that I would change the Use static to yes in the evox settings but I was not thinking that the save could be made on a hard drive not on a cdrw,

Well there are a lot of people like me who are afraid of doing adventures like this beacuse we don't know anything, and people assume we should know something well regardless,,

I really appreciate the help this board has given especially rms2001, QUALL999, JiveTurkey and everyone who showed me the way!!!!!

I'm glad any of my advice has been considered. I'm always willing to give my 2 cents if someone is willing to actually make an effort and try to do something themselves with it.
I don't think anyone assumes noobs know what to do, but it is frustrating when people want us to practically come to their house and do it for them after we have told them how repeatedly.
I don't know about Quall and rms but nobody held my hand when I started "adventuring" on my Xbox. I just knew what COULD be done and messed with it until it worked!!

I lurked a few boards for months just learning about the scene before I even opened my mouth or Xbox and I swear the first modchip I installed I had to resolder 3 times!!

I had to solder my X2Lite 3 times as well a funny story and I have some time. Well like you and a lot here can verify this before my chip even came to my door I was asking about bioses evox and was very confused between the two I studied this board like a religion and Qualls. By the time my chip came I would say three weeks after I started asking questions I had the Evox on my PC I studied the soldering and felt ready.

My first mistake was I was one hole off for every point took it off resoldered, the second mistake was I soldered from the front back so by the time I was at the last wires there was no room left to move. So the 3rd time was the charm all went well.

Then when I had everything up and running I had some trouble with having some games running but when I installed the new BIOS all well.

Without the help of you and other great people here Things would have been alot more diificult. Imagine if you will going into a dark room (starting off the modding process) file forums is like a beaming flashlight for when you get lost.
