Movie sequences lag in Xbox backups...

I was wondering if anyone else has had a problem with backups that "lag" during movie sequences? I have backed up my original Halo, Blood Omen 2, and Spider-Man so far and all seem to skip and lag a little during movies.

I am using an X-ecuter 2 Lite, FlashFXP, and the DataBurn Method using RecordNow Max. All of these games work perfectly as far as gameplay is concerned but only the movies have problems. I am however, grateful that its not the other way around.

Any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I am using generic (no name) brand of DVD-R media....although I don't think its because of the media. I realized that I had some uneccessary programs running in the background during the burning processes. I just backed up my Splinter Cell game today after realizing this and ended the tasks on the programs before burning. I put in the backup after it was finished and the opening sequence (movie) played flawlessly. Its amazing how sensitive the burning process is concidering I am running a pretty high end system.

Now I have to re-backup the other games I mentioned to try and prove my theory. Which brings up another question. I appologize if this question has been previously posted but, is it possible to backup a backup without having to network and copy files? If not, no big deal but it would be nice to be able to save some time that way.

hi. you can backup a backup made using the data method but from what your saying these backuups are damaged from burning them while running apps in the background, dude theye only good for cup mats now you should ftp the games again this time close anything which might run in the background, lock off the internet connection etc. dvd burning be it for games or movies is extremley delicate if you run apps in the background you will screw up what ever you are burning.

yeah no problem i always use the data burn method even for multi game discs.
that way you can read the disc in a pc dvd drive and if nessecarry backup without needing to ftp.
i would also recomend you get a copy of copyhaunters.xbe patcher v 2.0 patch all the default.xbe files in your games, even the ones which don't need it as it will make the backup boot faster.

Hi all, even if this thread is old, I reply here, because I have the same problem of skipping movies, but I do not agree about the background running applications.
Fact is that no matter what I do, some games simply refuse to play movies correctly, even on TDK at 1x or 2x. I have tried Dragon's Lair 3D and LotR - Two Towers, and they all skip frames in movies. Instead, using same media/apps/config/os, games like Panzer Dragoon Orta, Moto GP 2 or others have no problem at all with movies.
My opinion is that XBOX DVD unit (mine is Thomson) is unreliable and that's all. Tomorrow I'll go find a Samsung 616T and try to replace it. I bet an ale that no movie will skip anymore.
