DVD-Recorder

I want to buy a DVD-Recorder but am not sure whether to pick a DVD+R or DVD-R.

I need it for:

>backing up PS2 games (SCPH 30004, neo 2.2)
>backing up Xbox games
>burning DVD movies / avi, vcd, svcd

I'm tending to buy a DVD+R but am not sure bout the PS 2 compability.

Basically the early PS2s, version 1-4, have problems with +R media. So do many of the very early DVD players. The Xbox should have no problem what so ever.

Me personally i would go for a Pioneer A05. However, if you want dvd+r compatibility go for one of the Sony DRU drives, as that does dvd-r and dvd+r.

You know as soon as you buy one they will move the goalposts. When I bought my Pioneer I didnt realise there were such things as dual layered discs. I`m no expert but when copiers can do 1 to 1 dvd9`s they will be the ones to get

The only problem is that you are never going to see a "true" dvd-9 burner......

Take a look at this

THREAD ..... Charlie_PS2 explains why...
