I need help converting AVI into mpeg

could anybody tell me what kind of prog i need, PLS.

have already used Nero and it used some kind of codec to convert the avi file into vcd. but when i am finished and put the cd into the player it shows it up side down or on the 2nd att.it showed a mirror looking pic?????

NO i did not,i used mediaplayer to check it and it was correct,and then i did play it from Nero before i burned it and there it was also correct???

Any sugestions???

Could be a prob with your dvd player. What brand and model is it?

i dont think it is the dvd player,ive used vcd's on it several times so i dont think thts the prob.

I would try using TMPGEenc. It is tops.

i had the same problem when i did xvid in to vcd it come out up-side down till i did it with TMPGE & then let nero re encode it and it come out fine ... i say let nero re encode it cos ya get the option to re encode or just burn to a cd ... when i didnt re encode it ... the sound was there but the pic was green ect ect but then i let nero do it after tmpge and it come out fine
