cd writer problems

I have a HP 8100 which makes excelent copies of DC games(also self boot i use PSX copy 6.2) but a HP 8100 can not handle more then 650 MB.
So i bought a Samsung sw-208 8x 4x 32x (does burn more than 650 MB ) but i can't copy any DC games.
Can anybody help me.

I consider to exchange it with a Sony crx 145 (10x 4x 32x)
Have anyone experiencies with it.
