RecordNow Max giving me Problems...

I'm having some problems with RecordNow. Every now and then I'll get a game that sticks at the loading sequences of the game. I switched to Recordnow from Primo DVD. One of the games that isn't working is Vexx. The PS2 logo appears like normal but then it hangs at the "Loading" screen. I used to have this problem with Nero occasionally. The media I'm using isn't that great but I do have about 10 successful back-ups with it.

The question I have is that I am using firmware 1.40 with my pioneer 104 and I notice that a lot of forum members have 1.31 FW, could this be my problem? Thanks.

many reports on the net that 1.31 was most stable firware 1.33 was meant to really suck
not sure about 1.40 but i would consider downgrading it to 1.31

1.31 is tops. If is still a no go get some Riteks.

I know I was going to get some riteks and then I ran out of money. I just couldn't go any longer without having a single DVD-R. So I hurried down to PC Club and bought some generic ones. They definately aren't riteks but they barely get by. You get what you pay for.

One month....CAN'T WAIT!!!

Just an update. I cleaned my original and got a good burn. The original didn't look that bad but oh well. I also downgraded to FW 1.31. Thanks for everyones help.

New problem:

With the FW 1.40 I could burn on my generic media at 2X. Now that I downgraded from 1.40 to 1.31 I can only burn at 1X. Why is this? I thought that FW 1.31 let you burn at 2X on all media. Suggestions please..

I was asking this question to myself for months and never got it until a friend of mine was talking about it also. Turns out it is the release date for the new Matrix movie.

Last update and hopefully my problems will cease.
I downgraded my FW from 1.31 to 1.20 and then backup to 1.31 again and now I can burn on my media at 2X. Go figure. Thanks everyone for the help. I really need to ditch these Generics and get some riteks!!
