Error when burning backups

I currently have the Sony DRU-500ax.

I'm trying to burn with either a DVD +RW (Sony) or a Ritek DVD -R.

I made a backup copy of (both originals) Madden 2003 and Yu-Gi Oh (it's my son's.. lol), using RecordNow Max.

Now when trying to burn the image back, using the instructions on the forum, exactly, I get the following error.

Error-10 at Sector 106624 Disc Write Error
Command:00 Sense:03 ASCc ASCQ:00

Does that mean anything to anyone? I followed the instructions EXACTLY. Yes I'm burning at 1x, yes nothing else in the background is running. Auto insert is off, Autorun is on, and YES, I have updeated that PXengine thing, even though I don't know what it is.

Kind of stinks having a $350 burner and not being able to even get it to work yet.

Thanks!

Try changing your DMA setting. If it is enabled try disabling it. Is the drive set to master or slave? Switch to master if it isn't already.

Thanks for the quick reply.

The drive is set to master, and I cannot even adjust the DMA setting. So I am not sure if it is on or off. My motherboard must not allow me to change it, because their isn't a option under system properties/IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers/etc.. the box is blacked out.

I have however burnt a backup of Madden previously, not sure if I used Nero or RecordNow.... But I am trying to do it again to test it since I have been unsuccessful recently. Since getting it to work once, I receive that same error over and over again.

Any other ideas? Anyone?

Thanks!

well if u want u can use the more simple way of backing up your dvd games by using NERO.

This tutorial is actually Dummy proof. or at least im sure its dummy proof.
