Exclamation PS-X-Change 2 Boot Disc Does Not Work.

Hello There:

I have the PS-X-Change 2 boot disc but it has never worked. I use Clone CD with Clony XXL to pass on the correct settings to Clone CD & more recently Alcohol 120% to back up my Playstation games. However, this boot disc is supposed to enable me to play my backups. It does not. It has never worked. I have never managed to play any of my back up games.

What is going on? Do I have a faulty boot CD? Have I not managed to burn the copies correctly or is the PS-X-Change 2 boot disc a complete con?

If someone out there has any advise for me then I will be most pleased to hear from you.

Thank you for your reply but perhaps you could be a bit more specific? You say that the boot disc works perfectly. That might be the case for you but for me IT HAS NEVER WORKED. This is the reason why I made the post. I am trying to find out why IT DOES NOT WORK. If you have any constructive information for me then I will be happy to receive it.

dude

you asked if the disc was a con.

my post tells you it is not a con, how is that not constructive,
as for how i got it to work. put disc in psx follow instructions, hey presto it worked. thats all.

why not just buy a mod chip cost a couple of quid and dead easy to fit.

Excellent, that is what is supposed to happen. Perhaps you can give me some tips on how you recorded your backups then. Like I have said, I have been using Clone CD with the Clony XXL protection scanner to forward the correct settings to Clone CD. I have also made backups with the new Alcohol 120% program. All fail to work in the playstation with this boot disc. I am using a Lite on 48125s CD writer which should be more than capable of doing the job. What type of CDR's do you use if I may ask? Does this make a difference? I thought that the fact that original Playstation CD's were so just so that you could identify a genuine disc & that it did not actually affect how the disc was read, perhaps I was incorrect?

Thanks for your help.

psx_paul is on a distinguished road
I have the same burner as you, using CloneCD v4.x and I have no problems backing up PSX games.

My suggestion would be to purchase a decent reliable modchip (7-wire/stealth etc), these cost peanuts these days are are cheaper than the PS-X-Change boot disc.

Hope that this is of some help to you

If you guys have the latest, updated, PSOne then the PS-X-Change will not work. It will work with any other model Playstation, except the PS2.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but you did use the PVC tab for PSOne or the spring for Playstation? The PVC tab is very hard to get into the right place, the lid sensor has to be pressed in order for it too work, the picture offered in the instructions does a poor job of showing where it should go and it's not flush against the side.

Still confused as to the problem your having, if you have a back up game which can detect mod-chips the PS-X can be detected so if your getting a screen saying your PS has been modified you need to read the instruction on how to enter portection codes to by-pass the problem.

If your doing everything right and still having troubles you probably running into a bad CD and need to send it back for a new one.

My X-Change disk is version NTSC 2.0 made in 2000.

I have the solution If you are Using a PS one did you install the little white plastic paper on the button that senses the Lid? And if you are using a PSX did you put the spring inthe back right corner correctly? If it still does not work. IS the PS-X-Change a burned copy because if it is it will not work.
