ACER CRW8432iA (8x4x32) & DiscJuggler v.3 Issue/Problem(!?)

Trying to overburn a 74 min or burn an 80 min CD-R DiscJuggler returns the following error:

(X) (CDB: 35e00000000000000000, Status: 040002, Sense: 0302ff) No seek complete

This error, "No seek complete" only comes up if I try overburning 74 min CD-R's or burning 80 min media with DiscJuggler, as I mentioned before. I've burned regular 74 min no problem.

Anyone encountered / have a fix for this?

FYI: I'm running a P3 450 w/ 128 megs & WIN Me

Try http://www.acerperipherals.com/drivers/storage_drivers.html and download the latest firmware for the drive, a few drives dont support 80-min burning, you dont say which drive/bios you have, that may well fix it though.

Thanks for the tip... BUT I've "been there, done that."

Not only did Acer support tell me NOT to try to update my firmware (which is currently version 5.AW), they said the reason not to do this was that I might fry the unit in the process! In any case, I downloaded the latest and tried to update, but it returned the message "firmware cannot be updated" which means, I assume, that my firmware is relatively up-to-date or I'm basically f**ked.

But thanks for the suggestion. I think I'm going to buy a Yamaha or Plextor today.

I keep getting that same error when trying to record 80min CDs with that recorder. I'm using DiscJuggler ver. 2.0. I would definitely like to hear a viable solution to this problem. I don't want to hear about read past post b/c I've done all that already.

Have you guys tried copying at slower speeds, say 1x or 2x and have the RAW write and Overburn options selected before writing? I've had this problem before and fixed it by doing this. I also find that Discjuggler v.2 is more better at copying than v.3.

ignore read errors helped me with illegal field and no seek errors, it just fills in dummy blocks for the no seek errors for me.

This is For Acer drive owners who get this and similiar errors (CDB: 35e00000000000000000, Status: 040002, Sense: 0302ff) No seek complete

I finally fixed the problem, and was able to burn self boot games. The error Results if you try to burn on 80min CDR's or overburn 74min CDR's with Disc Juggler.

1. First you need to download DJ v 3.00.750, Dont worry it has support for v2.00 images so you dont have to convert it.

You can Get that here:
http://www.padus.com/download/cdj/d/cdjd.exe

Email me if you need help finding the crack for it!

2. Once installed goto Tools > Options, select the Default Tab and check these settings: "Raw read/write", "Ignore read errors", and "Overburn CD". Also change your "Max image size" from 80min to 100min

3. Then burn your image (File > New and select "CD Image to CD Recorder". Type in the path to your CDI image in the "Source & Destination" box. On the Advanced tab make sure "Raw write", and "Overburn CD" is checked. Select the "Action" box to "Write", and burn the Image at 4X)

4. Load it in your Dreamcast and have fun!!

If you would like to Update your Firmware for this Drive, First you have to find out what version firmware you currently have. You Do this by opening disc juggler then goto Tools > Explorer, click on your CDRW Drive and under the device tab it should tell you what version you have (Example Version: 5.AV, or 5.AW or 5.AX)

then Go here and Download the Appropiate Firmware upgrade based on what Version you currently have and Follow the instructions there. http://www.acercm.com/drivers/storage_drivers.html

Hope this Helps! Please reply if you need more help

I know that dj2.0 wont work on my acer 8x4x32.Dj3.0 does copy all my sboots with no errors, but they lack the inner burn ring on cdr's writing side, this causes the dc to spin fast for 1-2 secs when loading the game.
The copies are not perfect!
