ps2 fuses
ok my ps2 is dead after putting in a modchip. i believe it's either one of 2 things. one, of the fuses is dead or two, the bios bin f**ked and bridged when i tried to put in the chip.
How do i repair a fuse? How do i debridged the things in the bio bin? How do you know when the motherboard is fried? If the motherboard is fried, how do i fix it? |

The bios pins can be desoldered using desoldering braid found at any good electronics supply store like radioshack. Fuses eem to be one of the topics of the day. You can find a fuse list for your version here. To check the fuses simply use a continuety meter. It should read between 0 and 0.3 ohms. Any other reading on anything beside the fuse for the fan is a blown fuse. If all this fails check and recheck your bios pins with the best magnifying lens you can get your hands on. Then check all other places on the board where a liitle solder ball or tiny peice of a cut wire could get stuck. If none of this work remove your mod and try to get things working, if you can after all this you are probably fried. It would be very difficult to tell what was fried on the board without being able to compare every diode, resistor, etc.. with the same on a working board.
