Apple 2 Modchip

Hi, i have a ps2 with an apple 2 modchip. I dont know weather my is a v4 with gap bios, or v4 with no gap bios. Here is the following information of my ps2.

Well, you're opening it up, right?

Look at the BIOS chip. If there's a gap on it, you have a GAP BIOS.

Pretty simple, huh?

And another thought... I've seen many lists recently saying that all GT3 bundle PS2's were v4's. Incorrect - mine is a V5.

oh ok, thank. Ok, im sorry but im a new bie so i dont know anything. MY installer told me to give him a schematic and he'll do the rest. So, my ps2 is a v5 with gap bios or not. or is it a v5 with gap bios or not. YOu told me beofre to look at the chip inside. Can u PLEASE tell me what chip. im sorry for any inconvience

If you give your installer a v4 no gap, v4 gap, and a v5 install diagram he will be able to figure it out.

Ok, YOU'RE not opening it up.

Your installer will have to.

There are lists which show which PS2 version is which, simply from the numbers on the back. As for GAP vs. NO-GAP, the only way to tell that I know of is to look at the BIOS chip. The BIOS chip is easily identifiable. Look at the diagrams. Look at the ONE chip that's different. That chip is the BIOS. Now find it on your board...



As Bighap said, if you just print out all three diagrams your installer will be able to tell.
